Purchase Dog Food

K9 Shelter Aid is a collaborative project sponsored by the Academy of Equestrian Sciences. We help over burdened shelters by fostering dogs and puppies and matching them with individuals and families. 

Neglected, helpless, dropped off at the side of the road, or taken to the shelter because owning a dog became inconvenient.  Dogs are being euthanized in overwhelming numbers.  Our program accepts dogs that are only hours away from their deadly injection and are in need of a loving, permanent new home.

During their stay at the Academy, all dogs become part of our family.  Healthy food, regular walks and hikes, a warm bed at night and lots of attention and loving care prepare them to be a well-rounded pet that appreciates his/her new family. Adopting a dog from K9 Shelter Aid will give you the opportunity to participate in our exclusive dog services.  These services include:

• Answers to your questions on the dog’s health, response to training, and general disposition. 

• Free information on dog health, training and behavior.  

• Discounted purchase of healthy, high-quality dog food such as INNOVA and CALIFORNIA NATURAL

• Discounted membership to K9 Freedom Center.

• Once discounted physical exam and discounted neuter/spay at the Leesburg Animal Hospital, Dr. Michael Strickland.

At the time of adoption, the fee of $300 helps pay for medical expenses and food while in foster care. When you adopt a puppy or dog from us you must agree not to give away, sell, or trade this pet, even as a gift to a friend or family member or take the pet to a shelter or abandon him/her. You must notify K9 Shelter Aid, if you can no longer care or keep the dog.
